Alleged Public Right of Way over the raised walkway underneath the M25 motorway adjacent to Bridleway 3, Wisley, Guildford Borough.
Muddy Lane runs under the M25 motorway. This area floods regularly. In the past, it was possible to access a higher section of path both directly under the motorway and on either side leading to the underpass in flood conditions. For details, please refer to the photos below.
A Map Modification Order is being raised to add this ‘upper path’ to the Definitive Map of Rights of Way in Surrey. (NB: This is a new DMMO unrelated to the earlier legal case at Muddy Lane.)
If you have ever used this path at any time, please get in touch with either:
Julie Iles, Surrey County Councillor, Horsleys

or
Marion Malcher, Rights of Way Officer for Byfleet, West Byfleet & Pyrford Residents Association

Many thanks.

Hi, as a resident living in Wisley this access is a vital link for me, without the use of personal transport this is my only way of reaching public transport into west byfleet & woking & using local shops in byfleet. The upper pathway is the only way through at times of flooding.

I along with my family have walked, cycled and driven a car along muddy lane since 1997. Vehicle access was changed later.
