Woking’s Town Centre Masterplan 

25 July – 17 October 

Tell Woking Borough Council about your views on the Woking Town Centre Draft Masterplan as part of a 12-week consultation that is open from Monday 25 July to Monday 17 October 2022.

The Woking Town Centre Masterplan will establish an overarching vision for Woking town centre that will enable design-led, sustainable development, such as new homes that meet the needs of residents, a thriving retail and business environment, as well as strengthening Woking’s cultural and leisure offer.

The masterplan sets out detailed standards and principles that deliver a shared vision of the town centre, such as building heights and density. It will provide a long-term vision of what Woking’s skyline could look like by 2030 and beyond.

Visit www.woking.gov.uk/masterplan where you’ll find:

  • a copy of the draft masterplan
  • an informative eight-minute video that explains more about the different aspects of the town centre masterplan
  • interactive maps allowing you to leave your feedback
  • further information on the 10 Masterplan themes
  • the Masterplan consultation

Roadshows

A series of drop-in roadshows will take place at key locations throughout the borough, where residents can view an informative exhibition and speak to officers about the Masterplan. Come along on the following dates:

  • Byfleet – Thursday 28 July, 6pm to 8.30pm
    St Mary’s Community Church Hall, 124 Church Road, KT14 7NF
  • Sheerwater – Wednesday 3 August, 6pm to 8.30pm
    Parkview Centre for the Community, Off Blackmore Crescent, GU21 5NZ
  • Goldsworth Park – Monday 8 August, 6pm to 8.30pm
    St Andrews Church, Denton Way, GU21 3LG
  • Westfield – Tuesday 9 August, 6pm to 8.30pm
    St Mark’s Church, Westfield Road, Woking, GU22 9NG
  • Woking – Wednesday 17 August, 6pm to 8.30pm
    Christ Church, Jubilee Square, GU21 6YG

Virtual drop-in sessions

Council officers will host two virtual question and answer sessions via Zoom where a short presentation will be given before residents can ask questions. To take part book online:

Tuesday 2 August, 7pm to 8.30pm

Thursday 1 September, 7pm to 8.30pm

Town centre pop-up shop

Visit the town centre pop-up shop located along Mercia Walk where you will find detailed information on each of the topic areas. Opening on Saturday 20 August, the pop-up shop will be open on specific days throughout August and September. Officers will also be on hand to answer questions on specific topics.
