PRESS RELEASE: 9 October 2018
CAMPAIGN GROUP REQUESTS MEETING WITH WOKING BOROUGH COUNCIL AND MARSTON’S PLC TO RESOLVE DISPUTED WEST BYFLEET RECREATION GROUND
On 9th October we wrote a joint letter to Woking Borough Council and Marston’s plc requesting a meeting with their representatives and legal advisers about the future of the West Byfleet Recreation Ground to prevent further waste of public money and shareholder value.
It is with regret that we note the passing of our Surrey County Councillor for the Byfleets, Richard Wilson.
Prior to Surrey County Council, Richard for many years conscientiously represented the community on Woking Borough Council.
Richard was a resident of West Byfleet and, in particular, had served as a governor of West Byfleet Infant and Junior Schools for many years. He was always a very active and involved Governor and put considerable energy into helping the schools in many practical aspects. His wise counsel was always a most welcome addition at meetings.
In spite of increasing ill health Richard remained fully committed to his public duties.
We shall miss Richard as a colleague and as a friend.
