If you were disappointed to see that there is no West Byfleet Live event in the Recreation Ground this summer, then come and help form an organising group for West Byfleet Live 2020 and onwards.
We would like to set up as wide a group as possible of volunteers willing to help in any way from work on the day through to joining the Committee and organising the event.
The type of roles needed include a Chairperson, a Treasurer, site planners, activity organisers, and various liaisons with different organisations such as schools, youth organisations, businesses, Ride London, funfair.
Come and contribute on Thursday May 30 at 8.00pm at The Camphill Club, Camphill Road, West Byfleet
With many thanks to Sonia and The Camphill Club for hosting this meeting.
Note: this calling notice is issued on behalf of the Byfleet, West Byfleet, and Pyrford Residents’ Association; West Byfleet Neighbourhood Forum and West Byfleet Business Association. All these organisations wish to see West Byfleet Live continue and will lend their support to an independent community based organising group. Contact vrwb@the-residents.org for more details.

I have a suggestion to make West Byfleet a brighter and more attractive place. It concerns the tunnel under the railway which is now dirty and quite horrible..
My idea is to first stop permanently the brown leaks, and then line the tunnel with washable tiles.
The tiles should be illustrated by a Timeline of West Byfleet’s history (like one of the Tube Stations in London) These illustrations can be researched and drawn by local artists and/or art students from Brooklands College.
The funding for this scheme could be found by asking local people to buy a tile and having a list of doners in the tunnel.
I have seen a wonderful Timeline in Devon, which is a great attraction.
I hope you like this idea.
