Planning Proposal to increase traffic on Oyster Lane

11th January 2019 3 Comments Filed Under: Featured, News

We are grateful to our Councillor, Amanda Boote, for bringing this to our attention.

Surrey County Council (SCC) have received an application to extend the Waste Transfer Site in Wintersells Road whose sole access is Oyster Lane.

Whilst the application site sits within the administrative jurisdiction of Elmbridge Borough Council, because the application is for waste-related development SCC are the planning authority dealing with, and will subsequently determine, the application.

This matter is now out for public consultation until 4th February 2019.

Whilst your Committee welcomes the full commercial and industrial use of the Wintersells Estate, any increase in traffic movement on the already inadequate Oyster Lane and Parvis Road makes this proposal unacceptable until the infrastructure is improved. The Planning Application quotes 200 skip lorry movements per day. This is a very significant increase over the existing level.

Local residents are encouraged to submit comments directly to SCC (Email: mwcd@surreycc.gov.uk – quoting SCC Ref 2018/0144).

The application is available to view on the SCC website at the following address: https://planning.surreycc.gov.uk/planappdisp.aspx?AppNo=SCC choosing Ref 2018/0144.

Is that the correct link? It takes you to a form but there’s no mention of this consultation.
I’ve tried searching the SCC website for it but couldn’t find anything at all.

I’ve spoken to SCC. To comment you can use either the email address or the link quoted above.

If using the link, you have to click New Search then type SCC Ref 2018/0144 into the Our Reference box.

You will now see tabs to read further information and a link at the top to comment.

You can also see the info on the Elmbridge BC website using their planning ref EL18/3802
