With regard to the last line above re Community Meetings I hope you meant that residents from Byfleet are also welcome…?

Apologies – the post has now been updated to clarify that residents from all three villages are welcome.
Keith Creswell says
Apologies, this post was originally addressed to Byfleet folk. Should have been updated to make clear all three village residents are welcome.
Neil Willetts says
We need to resist these plans with all the vigour we can muster.
An increase of over 40% to the number of dwellings in the Byfleets will smash the services, make the place grid-locked and unrecognisable.
These rushed and poorly considered plans are an imposition of the WBC targets on one corner of the area that has the temerity to vote in independent councillors and must be resisted.
These plans must be rejected. The number of houses required by the government is to be revised downwards, so the requirement is not so high, the area GB4 is prone to flooding, area GB10 has not been flood assessed as far as I can see, GB10 has inadequate waste water infrastructure, the health services of the village are maxed out already and the addition of an extra 9kms of bumper to bumper traffic that the plans would introduce to the A245 would result in mayhem. The plans to mitigate these issues would be considered as hilarious if they were not so earnestly presented.
Finally the introduction of travellers pitches into a predominately ABC1 area, miles from sufficient benefit provision, facilities and shopping is a total imposition on both communities.
We must resist, we must demonstrate, we must demand our right to be seen by the Home Secretary.
We must stop this act of stupidity.

Unfortunately this is the work of one of your Councillors, Cllr Bowes (Pyrford Councillor). He joined the LDF committee in July 2016 as Chairman and immediately demanded to deviate from the council officers recommendations to select 6 professionally reviewed sites and locate the traveller site in Mayford.
He asked for a report on Martyrs lane to move everything there. The report re iterated the Councillors findings and said it was not suitable. Despite this he tried to put an amendment to the officers plans in the October 2016 Council meeting. His plan was to delete the 6 sites in reg 18 and put Martyrs Lane straight into reg 19 with no consultation. He only released this information 7 days prior to the meeting so no one had time to do anything. Fortunately he was found out and on the day of the Council meeting he was forced to put a different amendment in to do a consultation on Martyrs lane first. This left the 6 sites & travellers location still in reg 18. The Council meeting was comical to watch as most Clls did not really understand what was happening (It was broadcasted on their website).
So after the Martyrs lane consultation, the feedback in addition to the council officers evidence, showed again Martyrs lane was a ridiculous route to take. So, the only route left for him was to put everything in the Byfleets. Again he has changed the main selection of the officers professionally reviewed recommendations and dump everything in the Byfleets. Again he released the information (400-500 pages) only 7 days before the 2018 October Council meeting. He then pushed for the consultation only 2 weeks after the meeting giving the Byfleets no time to properly organise
I am sure the councillors will tell you this is not true, but when they do ask specifically which bit, and ask them to give you documentation to support their. There is plenty of documentation to support what I am saying….
The really sad thing is that the Pyrford forum has been heavily supporting Cllr Bowes because they do not want a site in Pyrford to be used. The cost of this was that concessions had to be made to Mayford so that his plan could be passed through by the LDF committee. 2 of Mayfords fields were also take out of reg 19. This means that the majority of travellers sites will be put in the Byfleets from now through to 2040!!!! They can no longer be spread across Byfleets , Pyrford, Mayford. Instead all will be in the Byfleets.
I do however feel sorry for the Pyrford residents as I think the Pyrford residents forum have deliberately kept some of the information from them. When they find out what has happened that a huge part of Pyrford will be right next to these big traveller sites.
Sorry Byfleet,
