Raising awareness identifying issues with planning application 2018/0645*
THE ABOMINATION HAS NOT GONE AWAY
- Thank You !
The deadline for objections has passed. We want to thank everyone who has taken the time and effort to make an objection/comment back to Woking BC. The volume and quality of objections (over 1000) is tremendous. We wanted the application to be subject to the detailed scrutiny it duly deserved. The online consultation is now closed and we have been advised that the Applicant has withdrawn the application.
However this is not yet time for celebration. As anticipated, we are informed that the Applicant intends to resubmit an application dealing with the objections raised and errors in the first application.
- What’s Next?
Our main objection is that such a development is not appropriate so close to homes, schools, sheltered accommodation for the elderly and a medical renal care facility. In our research of the original application documents, we had identified an absence of relevant information, errors, misleading statements and non-compliances with legislative requirements. This was supported by comments from various organisations that have been consulted by Woking Borough Council. The Applicant had been requested to provide missing information by the deliberation date, which was 20th August 2018.
We believe any similar proposal should also be opposed.
- What are PSAG doing?
We have compiled a dossier of information and a short summary of our objections to the application. This would have been sent to the planning officer and the planning committee. The key points are: air pollution, noise pollution, ground disturbance of contaminated land, inappropriate development, and construction disturbance. The dossier expands on these, together with the technical shortcomings of the application.
We will revisit the dossier and summary in the light of any new application received.
Thank you for reading. We will update you when we learn more.
